This year, Art of Fitness will be supporting the Full Mental Health Matrix.

Mental health doesn’t exist in a vacuum. It’s shaped by the environments we live in, the identities we carry, the challenges we face, and the systems we have to navigate. This year’s Art of Fitness Charity Showcase recognizes that mental wellbeing is complex, layered, and deeply human.

To reflect this complexity, Art of Fitness is taking a shared approach to giving. Our Board of Directors will select the primary beneficiary organizations that receive the collective funds raised through the showcase AND each performer will choose an organization they care deeply about, raising funds within one of the four mental health categories.

This structure allows the showcase to support both large-scale impact and personal, story-driven causes — honoring the reality that mental health is not one story, but many. Through movement, performance, and community, we bring these layers together to support change across every part of the mental health matrix.

Our causes will fall into four interconnected areas:

Basic Needs & Environmental Stress – Because safety, stability, housing, food, and community are foundational to mental health. When basic needs aren’t met, everything else becomes harder to sustain.

Identity & Social Pressure – Honoring how mental health is shaped by identity, including gender, sexuality, culture, ability, and the experience of being seen — or unseen — in the world.

Specific Mental Health Challenges – Supporting organizations that address conditions such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, and trauma, and provide access to care, resources, and recovery.

Systemic Barriers – Supporting organizations that address conditions such as PTSD, anxiety, and depression, and provide access to care, and recovery.
